Communication Suspension in the wrong?

I was suspended for dropping the [Mod Removed - Profanity] twice through xbox messanger. Online gaming is notorious for all sorts of terrible language. I was playing Red Dead 2 online, so I was bound to come across some rude people. I had
just gotten done completing a task that took 45 mins. of my time. This man comes through and ruins all of that work within a minute. Of course I am upset so I speak my mind. Although the person was deserving of the words written, I understand that its against
the code to curse in writing. In the real world if he was rude like that he would have gotten a verbal assault, if not that then something much worse. So almost immediately after sending message I get suspended from communication for a day. I had reported
him for 'Unsporting Behavior' so its fair I suppose. What is absolutely not okay is the fact that I may not speak to anyone on my friends list thought chat or messenger. How is this fair? I can understand if I am not allowed to speak to random people for a
period of time, but to take away my ability to speak to trusted people is unacceptable. This takes away from the rest of my day while he gets no punishment for his actions. So afterwards I seek answers and a way to defend myself in the situation. I get absolutely
nothing. I go to xbox enforcement, there I am told I am not eligible for a case review. I am also told that xbox support is not capable of helping me in any way. THERE IS NO LINK TO ASSIST ME OR PERSON I CAN TALK TO. Its like xbox is trying to put there head
in the sand and avoid all talk about suspensions. Xbox simply says [Mod Removed - Profanity], please accept your punishment'. Why? Why am I not able to explain the situation? Why am I suspended from all communications not just to random people?
Why is the person disturbing my gameplay and others not getting similar treatment? Why is there no option to get some explanation? This whole system is handled so poorly. I don't understand why there is a blanket banning system in place when there are many
different factors that need to be reviewed. It seems so lazy to have one type of communication ban and simply change the length of time. Xbox has been around to long to have such a broken system. I have been a loyal xbox user since the original came out, I
would think that there would be someway to discuss these things. So due to not having anyone on the xbox team available to help me I am forced to come here and hope that my voice is heard. Its only a day long suspension yet I am still incredibly upset on how
unfair the process is. Someone give me some reasonable explanations.

I would also like to point out that while I am reporting all of these people for the grieving style of play, they are continuing to do just that while my character is sitting idle in game. Then at some point when its been continuing on for minutes on end
I will be forced to leave to a new lobby and then gather all of my friends all over again in to the same game. This is just further taking more time out of my day and my enjoyment in the product I have purchased. While a great deal of this should be taken
up with the game company itself doesn't mean that the company overseeing the big picture cant work to better improve things with its community. I will never know if this person is going to get any sort of repercussions so in turn I say of piece of my mind
because it is simply my only way of knowing that at least something gets across to that player.

You are correct, I should not have let it further anger me. There are simply some styles of gaming that should have their own lobby. Hopefully at some point the game will implement a system that keeps the grieving style away from casual play. Its hard
to let a gamer like that walk away with out any repercussions so in the moment I said something I most likely would not take back.

The reason you are communication banned from speaking to anyone is likely because that is the only control mechanism that is currently built into the XBL chat and messaging functions (ie it's an all or nothing system). Your idea of allowing communication
only with people on your friends list while being banned from communicating with the wider XBL community may have merit however if it requires backend changes then you'll have to try suggesting that as a future XBL improvement to be added to the service:

In future remember that it's best not to respond to others who are trolling you as that may be exactly what they are looking for to further grief you.

There are many other ways to punish people. Taking away my ability to speak to randoms for a month would be more acceptable than taking away my ability to speak completely. Profanities are thrown around casually everyday on Xbox. Does that mean 85% of
the community needs a communication ban? I guarantee I won't see that happening anytime soon. When someone does something rude out in the real world and someone gives them some verbal abuse do the cops come and take away your ability to speak to their friends
and family?

Rules should be upheld and I have no problem being banned for it. The style of punishment could and should be subject to change. A curse word that is spoken within the game being played. It was used to give the expression of anger. If they truly deemed
it as an unacceptable thing to listen to they would have to play their game with the sound off. A complete shut out of communication seems a bit steep. There can be modifications made.
