    Hi - my son is an Xbox One user. We initially had an Xbox 360, but later upgraded. I did not realize when we registered, etc. that we had 2 different profiles. He received an Xbox Live Gold membership and I inadvertently added it to the Xbox 360 profile,
    which was apparently problematic because he has all his "progress" stored in the X box One profile. After some research, I think I determined how to fix this by adding the other profile to the "family". However he also had an X box gift card that was added
    to the Xbox 360 account. He wants to buy a game, which is discounted if you have Gold (we do). We are trying to buy the game with the credit in the X box 360 account, but the Gold membership does not reflect there. If this makes sense to anyone out there,
    can you provide any assistance in getting the accounts linked so that both show the Gold, the credit, and the game progress?

    Merging/Combining Profiles...

    Nothing is transferable from on account to another including gamer score, game saves, ms points, subscription time or dlc. And nothing can be merged. If you want your offline account to be active on XBL then you will need to add
    a gold subscription to it.

    Hi Guys and Gals,

    I'm pretty new to the 360, and LIVE as well. When I got the xbox, I created a "local" profile for general offline playing. I have ranked up a healthy amount of gamer points. I then went online and created a LIVE free account. I couldn't figure out how to
    apply the free LIVE account to my "local" account, so I created a new profile, linking it to my hotmail account. A week ago I purchased a LIVE Gold membership and redeemed it through my "new" profile.

    My question is this, am I missing anything by leaving the other profile (with all the gamer points) behind and starting fresh? I play CoD Modern Warfare 2/3 and Medal of Honor, if that clears anything up. Even if it doesn't benefit anything other than
    general housekeeping...I would like to merge the 2 profiles. Is this possible?

    Hi DMMD71,

    Since you have two account make sure to pick a main one to play on. Also, choose which one your going purchase games on. Sometimes it gets confusing when you have two accounts and make purchases on both.

    You can't merge the two accounts, but if you wanted to, you could do a license transfer.

    You can transfer content licenses from one console to another once every four months.

    If your console was recently repaired, or if you’ve purchased a new console, use the license transfer option on your console to transfer content licenses. Here’s how:

    1. On your console, sign in to Xbox Live using the gamertag that you used to purchase the content.
    2. Go to the Settings and then select Account.
    3. Go to Your Billing Options, and then select License Transfer.
    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to transfer the content licenses.

    After the licenses have been transferred, you need to download the content again to update the local licenses. This way the content can be used by other profiles on your console and when you’re not connected to Xbox Live. (Xbox Live is not available in all
    markets.)

    There is no way to combine 2 Gamer profiles. Each account stands on its own.
