    Colors displayed on screen when using the Xbox are weird


    Hey. Wish I could post attachments to better show my issues. But I’ll describe it best as I can The display on the tv is fine until I swap to the Xbox. Once I get to the login screen and anything beyond that is weird. The words are illegible. The colors are either super super dark or incorrect all together. When I click the home button on my remote (Roku) the display on the Xbox side of things fixes itself for a split second before the screen changes to the home screen on the tv where I can select either the Xbox or Netflix and Hulu what not. But of course when I go back to the Xbox I’m the display is wrong again. I have restarted the Xbox twice and hasn’t fixed. Unplugged both cables from the back and waited a little before plugging them in. Hasn’t fixed it. Any help will be greatly appreciated

    HDMI cable causing xbox freeze and connection problems

    The display setting on the xbox or the TV? i have the same problem, sort of. When i switched to my component cables, it never froze, but when i put back in the HDMI cable, it would either just cut to black, or some weird textured and odd colored screen.
    so i presume it's the cable. am i right?

    How does the "grapics card" get affected damage?

    Problems with the GPU usually shows up in the form of graphical "artifacts" on screen, like weird random colors, spots, flickering, and other garbled nonsense happening. Worst case scenario, the Xbox won't display anything on the screen at all.

    Either way, a defective graphics processor will require the console to be serviced or replaced.

    Hi Nicklej,

    Thanks for responding to us. So before accessing the
    Troubleshoot screen     where it would allow the console reset, the screen was a different color? If so, then it would be best to try the reset then check the color. If it still shows the different colors then I would check the HDMI cables to make sure everything
    is plugged in properly.
