Code was redeemed to wrong account in Xbox family

Can Elite be accessed with a family plan? My husband got it but we are on a family plan with two other friends and whenever he tries to enter the code it says that it has to be done thru the main account holders profile.

There is a way around it..

This error happens if you try to redeem the code on an Xbox Live Gold Family account that is not the primary account. This only happens on the console version of the Xbox Live Marketplace. You can still redeem this code by going to the Xbox
Live website and redeeming the code there.

1. Log into the Xbox Live website with your Xbox Live ID.

2. Click on "My Account"

3. Click on "Redeem Code" under "Billing and Payment."

4. Enter your code on the next page and your account will be activated.

Please allow at least 1 hour for the ELITE website to reflect your subscription status.

Codes are one time use only. If it's already been redeemed on a family member's account, it is not possible to redeem it on another account.

To add points to a Gold Family Account non-primary member, and not have to go through the Primary Account's Xbox "grant points" process, do the following:

-- Buy a prepaid code for points from somewhere, such as Amazon.com or Gamestop or wherever

-- Follow the directions on this page to add the points: support.xbox.com/.../redeem-prepaid-codes

-- You can redeem the code directly on the Xbox console that you have your Family Member account on, or you can login at Xbox.com with your Family Member account and enter it there.

You can do this as a Family *Member*, you do not have to be the Primary Member to add points in this fashion.

At this time, there is no way for you to be able to transfer content from one account to another.

If you bought it digitally, then your best bet would be to
request for a refund for the item and then purchase it on the correct account.

However, keep in mind that if this was a pre-paid code that you had to enter onto your account, this method would not work for you, and unfortunately, you would be unable to transfer this content.

Unfortunately, Xbox Support are unable to transfer a code once its been redeemed.

"Important Before you redeem your code, make sure that you're signed in to the correct Microsoft account on your device or browser. Codes that are redeemed on the wrong account cannot be transferred to another Microsoft account by Xbox Support."
