    i received my code for Alan Wake's American Nightmare on 31/1/16, but when I tried to redeem it last night i got an error message saying it had already been redeemed.

    I was using a friends account and console as I want them to have the game, does this matter?

    Not sure where best to post (already given a private replay back).

    I was given the code for Dark Souls instead of American Nightmare, I haven't redeemed anything yet.

    If you redeemed the codes on a friend's account then the games now belong to that account. They cannot be redeemed on your account as well.

    I don't want it on my account, and I'm not trying to redeem it on mine. I was trying to redeem it on his as I'm not interested in the game, but it's saying the code has already been redeemed. It was the first attempt at redeeming the code (on any account).

    American Nightmare page     on your account, does it say that you already own it? You may have to click "Buy Game" to see that information. It's likely that you might have redeemed it on your account since it was sent to you originally.

    Just to check, if you sign in on your personal Xbox Live account and check under the Ready to Install list, do you see American Nightmare available there? It sounds like the game may have accidentally been redeemed on your account before you were able to
    give it to your friend.
