COD Modern Warfare won’t launch

Hello, I have COD MW (disc) installed on my Xbox One S and it wont launch.

I have the disc in. All packs and content installed.

When I launch the game, it brings up the loading screen, then exits for no reason back to the Home screen.

I recently tried to play offline, it worked initially but said I was missing a pack for Spec Ops and MP that I could obviously see installed (1 and 2 of each) it was working perfectly before this.

I did have it all installed on my external, so I moved it to internal to see if that helped and then it started the “launch then go home”

I have tried hard reset, deleting local game save, and ejecting/playing disc. Now i am reinstalling the whole stupid thing.

Have you checked to make sure you have all the updates for the game? if not follow the steps below and hopefully that will help.

Press the Xbox button  to
open the guide and then select My games & apps > See all > Games and you should see an
option for game updates. select it and see if COD is on the list of games that require updates.

There are a ton of reason, but personally it could be cause by your local saved data/caches xorruption. I suggest you to delete them under my games and apps>press start on MW>manage games and add ons>local saved data>delete them

I have been having this Issue for 2 weeks. Cleared all caches, made sure to turn off data saving when i turn off my xbox, I even factory reset my xbox and re-downloaded everything and still having the same issue you are having. Can't even play offline

Did you find a solution to this? I purchased and downloaded the game yesterday but have not been able to get it running whatsoever. After installing every install the game still freezes, crashes, and restarts the console just minutes after it starting!

Uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache, reset the console to factory settings, and followed every other step given by Xbox support but still no luck. It takes 12 + hours to complete each install fully and this is my third attempt.

I did resolve by uninstalling the entire thing. I have automatic updates turned on. Reach out to MW/COD support and hopefully they can help. Actually probably need to talk to Microsoft. Not COD. But never hurts to try.

Lots of forems pointing out same problems. I has cod installed from hard copy. Every time I clicked on game to load only loaded warzone. Just used the mobile app to connect to xbox 1. Made sure mobile app install was on in settings. Clicked on the game then
followed by play on Xbox one. Game has now loaded and is playable. Didn't have to reinstall. Not sure if I got lucky but worked for me.

Hope this may help someone else.
