    COD - Advanced Warfare - Will not Install


    Hey,

    I suspect I have a bad disc? Which I am not sure I have ever had before.

    Trying to install COD and well it gets to 3% and the install fails.

    • I have uninstalled, reboot, unplugged, started back up, clicked on update later - Same result
    • I have uninstalled, reboot, unplugged, changed network to offline - Same result
    The above were the two suggestions I found online.

    And while I see that there was some problems with COD this afternoon .. the fact that I am not connected to the network and selected update later ... this is just a straight up install from the disc... would have nothing to do with the problems this afternoon
    right?

    So it would have to a bad disc? Thoughts? Any other suggestions or am I just attempting to take this game back to the store for a new copy - hopefully they will exchange it.

    COD Advanced Warfare Installing strangely.

    I'm wondering if they may have changed the behavior of how disc-based games install, due to the simultaneous installation of the game and the update patches when a new game is installed. It used to be, the game would just say "installing" for a REALLY long
    time, longer than normal, and it was because it was also downloading and installing all patches in the background at the same time. I wonder if, now, the disc goes to "queued" until the update is downloaded and ready to install. The fact that disconnecting
    from the internet solved the issue seems to support that possibility. :)

    Yep, switching the console to 'Go Offline' seems to do the trick.

    Sorry to hear it. Some people have had issues in the past with installing disc based games. Try disconnecting your console for the internet for the duration of the install.
