CoD 4 game mode list empty?

Decided today that i wanted to play CoD 4 again so i went out, bought a 360 and a copy of the game, got home and the multiplayer game mode list is empty?

Someone said on Twitter that they've shut the servers down, any truth to this?

I would love to see a WWW2, modern and futuristic 3 year cycle. This whole semi-futuristic every year for the past 3 years has gotten a little old. This is a big reason Ghosts seems stale to people. We really need to go back to WW2. It is the best 'war'
era. I hope the next release isn't modern...As much as I love modern warfare that would be 4 modern titles in a row. I also hope they are smart enough not to go into the future. They would be going toe to toe with the COD 4 developers with their new franchise
titanfall....don't forget about Destiny and Halo one. Not to mention Star Wars Battlefront, Watchdogs and Gears 4. If it were up to me COD would stay out of the future.

COD 4 servers shut down?

Everytime i try to play cod 4 online it gives me a list of blacked out game modes and the same number of people online and it never changes

 

No the servers are not closed but the game is completely ruined by modders.

 

It's about the same with WaW. Most players have moved on to the latest COD game. If there are any players, it is either the die hard core players or modders that's left, and they mostly play TDM, HTDM, or SnD modes.

Ghosts was modded before release.

 

I played Ghosts quite a bit and I never saw a single modder.

The worse I have seen was a no rank *Rank with a dull square box*, but I warned my pals before we got into the match.
