  1. Cloud Sync syncing old save data

I have 2 Xbox Ones at home in different rooms (one original Xbox One and one Xbox One X). I'm the only user and I play the same games in the same account on either console, because sometimes I have to play in one room and sometimes in the other. The cloud
sync used to work pretty reliably and I could seamlessly continue my game saves on the other console with no problems.

But lately I started having an issue where when i move to the different console and start the game, the cloud sync will complete successfully but when I load a save in the game I notice that it is old. It is not the last save I made in the other console,
but a previous one (sometimes half an hour older or later). It is still a save from the other console, just not the latest one I made. I have been experiencing this all the time with No Man's Sky, but I think it might have been happening with other games also
    (like The Witcher 3).

It seems that a previous save got uploaded correctly to the cloud, but maybe not the latest ones.

I was wondering if there is a way for me to ensure that my latest save data is uploaded from the original console (before I shut it down and switch to another console). I appreciate any assistance or advice.

    :)

I hate having to ask a n00b question, but...

What are you trying to accomplish? If you're trying to start a game over, just delete the local save data, then when you start a game it will start to sync the cloud data. Just press the button to cancel this sync and you should be able to start a game fresh. Then when you play the game next time, it may say something like your save data is out of sync. Would you like to use the cloud or local save. Select to use your new local save, then it will start syncing that one to the cloud from then on.

Alternatively, you can just create a new Xbox Live account and play the game on that.

Question about owning a physical disc that is BC

^ That's not true, your files are saved locally too. If you are connected it's synced and if you uninstall a game your local save is removed until you redownload the game, at which point it will sync to servers.

What's stored on my hard drive, and what's stored in the cloud?
Your data is stored to both your hard drive and the cloud simultaneously. Xbox Live keeps your important data in sync so you don't lose anything when you use a friend or family member's console, or even when you switch to a new console.

Note A regular connection to Xbox Live is required to keep your data in sync. Playing offline may cause your cloud data to become out of date. Your data refreshes each time you connect to Xbox Live.
    "

Your file is on your system, and it auto syncs. Makes it seem like you are only using cloud, but really it will just update your cloud save and your local save by checking cloud.

When starting a game offline and the sync data loads, could it retrieve my data to keep going?

You have to be online to sync data with the cloud. Your local save is always saved to your console. If you don't sync to the internet when you haven't in a while, if you somehow lose your saved data you can not sync it back, but you rather get the last synced
    data sent to the cloud.

    Cloud Sync Not Working

This moderator is clearly copying and pasting old data from the Xbox One days. This troubleshoot doesn’t work on Xbox Series X or S consoles.

“Cloud saved games” isn’t an option anymore.

I can’t find how to force a cloud sync. I can’t play Starfield on my other console in another room because the data won’t sync.

What’s the point of cloud saving if it doesn’t actually save???

    Deleted game save

Try loading the game the save data was for, if the save syncs up, then you might have only deleted from the console. If it doesn't sync, then you will probably have deleted from the cloud and console, and there will be no way of getting the save data back.

Will deleting and re-adding my profile on Xbox One delete my save data?

your game save data will be safe as long as it was successfully synced to the cloud

    Need help please!

When the Cloud syncs, that usually means the save data was transferred to the Harddrive.
