Cloud saves confusion, always a different answer

Where to start? I keep getting conflicting answers. On my Xbox one s, there are no cloud options, evidently it is all done automatically, yet some faq say otherwise. Also, some say you have to have gold, and others, only silver.

I finished Diablo 3 over 2 years ago, but only the main campaign. I would like to go back and do adventure mode now that the game is only $20. About 2 years ago I got gold in order to play Neverwinter, according to my achievements, that was a month or
two after I finished Diablo. I just downloaded Neverwinter again, on a new console, and the old save was there. So, if I buy Diablo and put it on this console, will it get my finished game save from the cloud, even though I only had silver at that time,
or not?

Cloud Save Bugginess

Cloud saving doesn't really work like that. It always saves to your console first, then uploads it to the cloud, should it not fully upload, it will still remain on your console intact, and always use the saves on your console. The cloud is just a back-up
as well as a convenient way to transfer saves to another console.

I would think there was a problem saving the game, either the game was exited before the save could complete, or the console was shut down to quickly. Or it could just be that the save corrupted, which can happen.

To answer your question though, the only way to effectively disable cloud saves is to play offline.

On the Xbox One console family Cloud saves are automatic and do not require a gold membership like the 360 does. If you previously played Diablo 3 on your account then your saves should still be available to you when you reload the game.

What if I stored the save on another entirely different Xbox one console? Does the cloud always let you choose which data is synced if it does not match?

To answer your question yes, as it is the only way to sync local console saves to the cloud for you to be able access your saves to other consoles. To avoid this from happening again in the future I would suggest to always select the correct save progress.

Hi Randy Mantooth -- I haven't had any problems but you'll need to make sure that from the Xbox 360 you have the data saved under Cloud Saves and not locally. You can always copy/move the files form the HDD to the cloud save option from the console at any
time. Just wanted to mention it because several games I had in the BC library I only had saved locally and was initially confused why my saves weren't appearing.
