Cloud saves - can I recover an earlier save?

Hi, at 19.50 yesterday, fifa deleted all of my edited data (which was at least a hundred hours) and has overwritten it. I'm a mixture of furious and devastated at this, I simply don't have the time to do it all again. If you need a more in-depth explanation of what happened I have added this in the final paragraph italics, but I don't think you'll need to know any more than what is written above.

I have spoken with EA live chat and they advise that as my save data is stored in the cloud, that I may be able to recover it from the cloud. They therefore advised me to uninstall the game and then re-install it, advising me that when I re-install the game, it will download my last save off the cloud and therefore potentially recover the old save before my edited data got deleted. I have done this but the game is simply loading the data after the 19.50 deletion of my data.

My question therefore is does the cloud save more than one version of our save files? For example would there be any other save files from before 19.50 yesterday that would solve this?

How this happened: I had edited fifa 21 with all the transfers across pretty much every league on the game, plus created players, plus edited stats and it's all been lost. If anybody has ever tried this, it's incredibly time consuming. I only had the time because I was off work due to Covid. Now life it back to normal there's just no time to do this. It's a hugely convoluted process due to how bad the editing tools are on the game.

Yesterday, at 19.50PM I clicked the 'champions league' mode and for some infuriating reason, it automatically download the rosters from EA's last update, which was around June 2021. It has therefore over written all of my edited data and basically made the game horrifically out of date and basically unplayable. Every other mode I play always asks first 'do you want to download the roster update' and gives me the option to select no. However, this particular mode, unbeknownst to me, has just gone ahead without my consent and fkin downloaded an outdated roster 'update'. As I have autism, something like this is unbearably stressful and I'm therefore desperate to recover all of my work.

    :)

No, the game progress file may remain on your console. EA could have told you this instead of asking you to reinstall the game.

I'm Samy an independent advisor. Welcome to the Xbox community. How are you?

You have a progress file that is saved to the console and a progress file that is saved to the cloud. Your console progress file is automatically synced to the cloud and you have no way to access your cloud progress.

You can try deleting your cloud progress to try to bring up your previous progress but I think probably your cloud progress has already been synced with the progress you have on the console.

To erase your progress on the console press the menu button on the game icon and go to manage games and add-ons>saved data and delete the progress only from the console, open the game and your progress will be synchronized with the progress that is in the cloud.

If that doesn't work I'm afraid the progress has been lost and there's no way to recover. Sorry about that, mate.

EA haven't been much help. Each live chat advisor gives me a different 'solution' but none of them work. Earlier today they emailed me advising me to delete the saves from both my console AND from the cloud. I replied asking if I do this, surely it will just delete everything and I'll be left with nothing, which would mean losing my save files such as career modes. They haven't replied.

It's too much of a risk to delete my career modes off the console as I have no way of verifying if they're in the cloud data. Is there any way to check the size of the cloud save. If it matches the 1.2gb on my console then I'd be more confident in deleting it off my console. But at present it's too much of a risk and I've read a number of posts online of players being unable to retrieve career modes off the cloud.

Cloud saves - can I recover an earlier save?

No, there is no way to access this.

Game progress must be saved to the cloud or at least saved to EA servers and linked to your EA profile. If that didn't happen it wouldn't be possible to continue the progress on another console.
