    Cloud Gaming on iOS Loads Black Screen instead of Game


    I've been having issues with the Cloud Gaming web app on iOS 15 over the last week. At first I was getting a "Site cannot be found" message, then it started loading, but not recognizing my GamePass subscription. Today I can get to the game selection screen, but every time I try to launch a game, it just loads a black screen and stops. Seems like there's been some progress made on this issue but I'm wondering if anyone else is running into these problems.

    Hello there, that's unfortunate.
    In your case you may need to wait until the stable version is released as you said.

    I'm using iOS 16.5 and so far so good with the cloud gaming feature.

    This could be caused by the iOS beta and not an issue with the cloud gaming feature itself.

    May I know if you can go back to a stable version of IOS, or if you have close another iPhone with iOS 16.5 or less, verify the cloud gaming feature there?

    Sadly, no. I tried, but I can’t rollback updates. I’ll have to wait for the stable 16.6 version to come out.

    Hi Christian. My name is Kyle and I'm an independent advisor.

    Due to restrictions put in place by Apple, you cannot access Cloud Gaming via the Game Pass app on iOS. Instead, you have to access the website via a Safari bookmark. Follow these steps to add the Cloud Gaming web app to your iOS device:

    Launch the Safari browser, and then go to Xbox.com/play.

    Select the Share button, and then select Add to Home Screen.

    Now, you can open the Cloud Gaming bookmark from your home screen and it will function like a standalone app.

    Latest update seems to have renedered my console useless. Any suggestions.

    This exact problem happened to me. I just updated and boom just black screen instead of home screen. I click report a problem and it goes to open the app then black screen. I put in a disk and loads up the game screen and then black screen.
