Cloud gaming - iPhone/iOS

Is Microsoft actively working to improve cloud gaming on iOS devices? My concern is multiplying more each month - it exists, but there’s no app, because Apple clearly wants a cut of money they don’t deserve (in my opinion).

So, the browser functionality was made - but ever since I updated to iOS 15 it’s so busted and I can’t use it at all. The game stutters and the input lag is amplified because my video is way behind where the game is or skips. My phone gets pretty hot quickly, the game becomes unplayable, and my newly purchased backbone is useless.

I know my device is capable of cloud gaming, and asking Apple such a question would have them reply “well that’s an Xbox issue”. So if anyone is able to provide insight on this I would greatly appreciate it.

The only thing I found online is to “request desktop version”, but I’ve tried that and unless I’m doing it incorrectly (i.e, doing it before logging in), then I don’t know what else I can do.

I want to get the most out of my game pass, but it’s hard to do that when cloud gaming isn’t viable.

Also, yes, Microsoft is doing its best to improve cloud gaming on every platform. Hopefully, there will be an update anytime soon.

May I know if you can go back to a stable version of IOS, or if you have close another iPhone with iOS 16.5 or less, verify the cloud gaming feature there?

Sadly, no. I tried, but I can’t rollback updates. I’ll have to wait for the stable 16.6 version to come out.

Is your iPhone up to date and everything?

Could you double check that opening Settings > General > Software update

If your iPhone has the latest iOS version please try this instead:

Go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data

After that open the Xbox Cloud gaming app and check.

If the issue persists please sign out from the Xbox cloud gaming app > then close it and delete it

Now go to settings > general > transfer or reset iPhone > reset > Reset network settings

Your iPhone is going to be restarted, once done. go to xbox.com/play , add the xbox cloud gaming bookmark and try again

iPhone 4 is End Of Line and doesn't use the latest version of iOS so they could be the problem. I can confirm it works fine on iPhone 8 and iOS 12
