Closing one microsoft account, but porting that xbox account to a my new microsoft account

So I had an xbox years ago, switched to pc gaming for the last few years, and just now picked up another xbox for the living room. My problem is that my main xbox account is linked to an old microsoft account that I dont use anymore, but I do have access
    to the account.

My main account is now whats on my computer and linked to all my devices, and I would really like to keep my old OG xbox account with all my friends on it from that old account though. And I would like to utilize the gamepass which would be linked to my
PC as well. Is there just any way to swap these around, or maybe a day with support on the phone could do the trick?

    :)

Since the account you use on the PC is already a Microsoft Account, you can't "merge" the two, or move the Xbox account over.

Alternatively you could continue to use your old account on the console, and add your new account to the console as well, setting that console as your new account's "Home Console".

That way the new account shares your memberships like Gamepass to the console, and every other account playing on that console.

If you don't have a lot game progress and purchases on the old account, you might consider adding your friends to the new account.

If necessary, you can then also rename your new account, thanks to the new Gamertag system. You'd then get a small number added to the Tag, similiar to how Battle.net and Discord handle Usernames.

Unfortunately there is no way to do what you are asking.

The only thing that can be done is changing the email address that is associated with an account.

Xbox profiles can not be transferred between MS accounts.

The only thing that I can think of and this maybe a little annoying is to add your OG xbox account as an account on your computer and when you want to play those games switch the account on your computer to the OG xbox account.

if you get Game Pass Ultimate on your new account then make your Xbox the Home Xbox for that account, any other account you sign in with on the Xbox will have access to all the benefits of the Game Pass Ultimate subscription.

so you'd use your old account on Xbox and your new account on PC

that lets you make use of the Game Pass for PC and keep your old Xbox progress and friends

    Permanently Deleting A Gamertag

    Hi there,

the closest thing to deleting an account is moving it to another Microsoft Account and then close that Microsoft Account.

An option is to create a new Microsoft Account, move the xbox live account to that new Microsoft Account and close that Microsoft Account afterwards. This should make the xbox live account inaccessible

See this link for the how to move the account to another Microsoft Account:
    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

To close a Microsoft Account go to this link:
    https://account.live.com/
and use the Close Account option at the bottom

I hope this will allow and help you to let your son go...

请问如何删除我的微软账号与XBOX玩家账号的关联? [Edit - Translation] - How can I delete the association between my Microsoft account and the XBOX player account?

    Hello FortuneCat,

Thank you for posting here on the forums. Unfortunately, there is no way to disassociate an Xbox profile from a Microsoft account. Once an Xbox profile is created and attached to a Microsoft account, it will remain attached. No way around this.

If removing your profile from the Microsoft account is mandatory then the most you can do is

    close your account
to start new, or create a new Microsoft account.

    Hope this helps!
