close xbox account

I understand you would like to close your Xbox account. In order to do this, you will have to close your Microsoft account. You will be given a re-open window. Once your account has been closed and the re-open window has passed, Microsoft will delete your Data and your Content.

Hello Ashleyfg, this may have happened because you logged in to the Xbox Site, when you first do, it creates a Gamertag, but your account remains a normal Microsoft account with access to your Email, OneDrive, etc.

no as they are both the same, all microsoft accounts have an xbox account.

It would delete your entire Microsoft account, so anything attached to that account including your email would be deleted. There's no way to just close an Xbox account.

the Microsoft account IS the Xbox account IS the Microsoft 365 account, they are all merged and cannot be separated, just ignore it if you don't use it, as you have a Microsoft account you get all of it.

nothing you can do, the only way to get rid of it is to close the Microsoft account and lose everything.
