Classic Xbox Games won't play on xbox 360

Hey guys,

So, I just bought a digital copy of Conker's Bad Fur Day - Live and Reloaded, and when I boot the game, an error message pops up and the game just won't play.

Checking on the web and it seems that this is happening to the other classic xbox games when played on xbox 360 and it seems that I should get a first party HD hardware. Mine is a third party licensed by Microsoft HDD...

Would you guys happen to know any other solution, since it's a bit expensive to buy another HDD just for this game? I was planning on getting a bunch of other games, such as the classic splinter cell ones too, and I really wanted to play the game I bought,
so a refund isn't exactly what I was looking for....

It would also really help if someone could give me means of contacting microsoft directly to check this...

It sounds like your issue is the Hard Drive you have on the console. Unfortunately, upgrading to an official Microsoft hard drive would be the way to be able to play backwards compatible titles. Keep in mind, there are games with known errors. Here is

If you're trying to play the games on a classic Xbox or a Xbox 360, then we can't really help you, since the consoles aren't serviced by Microsoft anymore, and instructions for self repair are not allowed here.

But as an advice:

You can't simply switch the drives of the Xbox 360 console. The drive and motherboard are cryptographically "married", and even if you replace the drive with the same make and model, the key in the drive won't fit the key in the motherboard, and the drive
won't work.

If this game is backward compatibility, I mean Xbox 360 games or Xbox Classic, so yes you can. If you mean Xbox One Games there is nothing different if you are play before your Xbox One S on Xbox One, still you can play these games on Xbox One S or Xbox
ONE X. When the next-gen Xbox console is in 2020, the Xbox Classic, Xbox 360 and Xbox One will also play on the next generation of Xbox.

It's an original, but I think it plays on the 360, and it's in the Xbox originals classics downloads for 360.

To play Xbox classic games on the Xbox 360, make sure the game is on the official backward compatibility list, and make sure your Xbox 360 has an official Xbox 360 hard drive installed.
