Clarification on Gamepass Ultimate conversion?

So the conversion at a 1:1 ratio wasn't limited to the first month purchase of ultimate and can be converted at that ratio again now that I don't have any time left, it's only adding time to an active subscription that isn't 1:1?

The 1:1 applies to any amount of time you have remaining on a Gold/Game Pass subscription, not just 1 month. You can convert up to 36 months with the 1:1 ratio.

The FAQ doesn't state it unfortunately, hence the reason for a lot of confusion. When Ultimate was first released it was announced at E3 with the $1 promotion so everyone assumed it was only part of that promotion/for new subscribers, but it's not tied to
either.

The 1:1 ratio will happen if you have an active standard Gold or Game Pass subscription. It doesn't matter if you've previously had Ultimate or not, as long as you do not currently have Ultimate. It's only when you do the reverse (add Gold/Game
Pass to Ultimate) that the other conversion rate would take place.

Is that stated in the terms or somewhere like that? I read through them multiple times trying to work it out before posting this thread but couldn't see anything specific about it, so I'm just wondering if I've missed it specifically saying it goes back

Thanks! I've seen lots of posts elsewhere of people saying they got the £1 offer again and that let them convert at 1:1 ratio a second time which really gave the impression that the 1:1 was connected to the 1 month for £1, quite surprised that's not the
case after all.

I've been wondering for quite a while how I'd get more time for ultimate and didn't want to risk buying a year of gold for 5 months of ultimate, a shame the FAQ and Terms don't just outright specify the 1:1 ratio is just for everyone without any current
time and it doesn't matter if they've had a subscription before, would have saved all the confusion!

If you have a current subscription to Gold or Gamepass then you would be able to convert it to the Ultimate plan.

1st time using Ultimate will give you the full conversion of your available Gold/Gamepass. If you had Ultimate before then you would be in for the conversion rate as mentioned above.
