Claim digital license not showing up on sons Xbox.

He's not transferring them to his brother. He's transferring a console license to his brother's console so his brother can access them on his own account. When you purchase digital content, you're given 2 licenses; one for your account and one for your console. The account license lets you access the content you purchased on any console as long as you're signed into your account. The console license allows others to access your games on the console with that license.

So if your older son sets your younger son's console as his Home, your older son an continue playing his games while he's signed in on his own console. Your younger son would then also be able to play the games on his own console because it has your older son's licenses.

Are you a member of GamePass? If so, I believe that it could be to do with how the digital license is set up. As The Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is available on GamePass and it may be a case that it is not showing up as a purchase
as the subscription takes precedence.

The Home Xbox system allows one person to set a console as their Home Xbox and that allows any other profile on that Xbox to download and play any of the Digitally bought games from that profile.

Digital licenses go with the profile that purchased them.

Any console that is set as a profiles Home console will show their digitally bought games in the ready to install section automatically on that console.

So in your situation if you have your Xbox set as your friends Home Xbox their digitally bought games would automatically show up in your ready to install section on your console, if their are no games showing up in your ready to install section then that
profile they gave the sign in information for does not have any digitally purchased games on it.

You can sign into an account at account.xbox.com and go to the my games link at the top and it will show you any Xbox One games that the profile you are signed into on that website has on their account.

You just need to sign in under the same account that bought them on 360. Only digital games will show up

License transfer doesn't exist for Xbox One and Series. It's all account based

Did you install that DLC from the Manage menu?

disc games will not show under owned because you don't own a digital license to them
