    Choosing wallpapers from OneDrive Photos app


    The new OneDrive Photos app that just got added to preview is great. I can transfer photos to my Xbox from my phone easily. Except I can't set any of them as my wallpaper. Currently the only way to get a custom image wallpaper that's not achievement art
    or a screenshot is to use a USB drive. Why not let users set their wallpaper using photos uploaded to the Onedrive photo app. It's a first party app after all. If we can't get wallpapers from the built in internet browser at least let us use OneDrive. What
    do you guys think?

    Xbox mysteriously taking images from phone and putting them on TV screen

    What kind of phone does your wife have? Could it be that the photos are being auto-uploaded to OneDrive? Even if you delete them from the phone, they still remain on OneDrive. Perhaps the OneDrive app is opened on the console and it's cycling through
    the photos that have been uploaded to it?

    I don't know, just taking a stab in the dark on this one.

    When I launch the OneDrive app on my Xbox one, I have the headers: "Photos and Videos" and "Shared" but then nothing underneath. I use OneDrive with my Windows Phone as my default upload and it contains all of my family photos, so it should not be empty.
    I've searched through the options for the app and "manage" on the console. I've even tinkered around in the OneDrive app on my computer, but still cannot get anything to appear for OneDrive on my console. Am I missing something?

    Memorie, if you want to use a photo from your phone as your Xbox background, you can do that by sending the photo to your Xbox through the Xbox app or OneDrive. Here’s how to do it step-by-step:

    Option 1: Use the Xbox mobile app (quick method for screenshots or photos)

    On your phone, install the Xbox app (iOS or Android)

    Sign in with the same Xbox account you use on your console

    Upload the photo to your Xbox activity feed (you can make it private)

    Go to your Xbox console

    Open the Xbox app on your console, view your profile, and find the uploaded image

    Open the image full screen, press the Menu button, and select Set as background

    Option 2: Use OneDrive (more control over files)

    Install the OneDrive app on your phone

    Upload the photo to your OneDrive account

    On your Xbox, install and open the OneDrive app

    Sign in and browse to the photo

    View it in full screen, press the Menu button (three lines), and choose Set as background

    Once it’s set, it’ll appear as your console wallpaper behind your home screen tiles.

    Something I like to do is store the wallpaper I want to my OneDrive, and then set it as a wallpaper via the OneDrive app on Xbox One. If you are having troubles storing it locally, maybe give this method a go!

    Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues sending photos.

    The only way for you to send photos from your phone like what you're asking would be for you to use the OneDrive app on your phone as well as the OneDrive app on the Xbox console.
