Choosing a hardrrive

No problem! With the series x coming out I want to make sure I have lots of space for the new generation. I have over 700 games. And I've gone completely digital. My internet is slow so I cant really install a game so easily. better to have them all installed.

Then yes, absolutely! The enclosure needs to be USB 3.1 and powered. Then it should work. However, might be an idea to read or watch some videos of larger drives on the Xbox One.

This is a huge drive to use for a console. Ask yourself if you really need such a large drive. If your games are on disc, do you need all of them installed at once?

Fair enough, a slow internet connection is as good excuse as any.

Be aware however that while that drive will work on Series X, you won't be able to play Series X games directly from it. Series X games will require faster access and read speeds. My understanding is that the Series X games can be 'backed up' on an external
drive and then need to copied/moved over to either the internal SSD or the External SSD's that will be available for the machine.

The Series X will read and play Xbox One games from an external drive though.

Unlike the PS4, Xbox One hard drives are not meant to be user replaceable. And, even if you were to replace it, getting your console to work again is another issue.

Plus you'll invalidate the warranty and microsoft will not repair your console even for payment.

Not that a 14TB BarraCuda would work anyway, it's a 3.5" desktop drive - it won't physically fit.
