My child has his own account and is trying to buy things from Minecraft and Fortnite. I get an email asking me to allow this purchase. I push allow and it takes me to the payment page. I add £10.00 to allow him to buy a £3.49 object. The £10.00 is added
to his Microsoft account. Yet it still wont let him purchase it. We have tried twice and it just keeps taking me to the payment page. What are we doing wrong?

    Kind Regards

    Jools

    child spending help

    Hey there JuliesChildcare,

Thanks for reaching out to the Forums for advice on how to deal with this issue. I can totally understand how this could be pretty discouraging. If the right account balance is not displaying, then I would suggest

    removing and redownloading
    the child's profile.

When you get the chance, give that a shot and let us know if that helped.

    Thanks for reading!

We have the same problem.. I've unintentionally added £10 twice to my son's account for a £4.59 transaction but it will not allow him to purchase it even though the funds are showing available. 🙄

    Parents/owners of family group notifed

Hi WillDevons, my name is Jhon, and will be a pleasure help you

No, parents will not receive notifications when a child purchases a subscription if spending notifications are disabled for the child's account.

Spending notifications are a setting that allows parents to receive notifications when their children make purchases in the Xbox Store. If spending notifications are turned off, parents will not receive notifications about purchases made by the child, including the purchase of a subscription.

To turn off expense notifications for a child's account, follow these steps:

-Open the Xbox app on your console.
-Press the Xbox  button to open the guide.
-Select Profile & system > Settings > Account.
    -Select Family.
    -Select the child's name.
-Scroll down to the "Notifications" section.
-Uncheck the "Notify me about this family member's purchases" box.

Once you have turned off spending notifications, parents will not receive notifications when their child purchases a subscription. However, parents will still be able to see the child's purchases in their purchase history.

For your reference, I have included a link where you can find more details about the solution I suggested.

I hope the information I gave you has been useful to you, have a happy day.
