    Child can’t play Fortnite online - Xbox message


    Hi,

    Trying to set up Xbox one so son can play Fortnite. Keep getting message “You are unable to see content other people make because of how your account is set up. This can be changed in your privacy and online safety settings on Xbox.com”

    I have spent hours and tried changing many of the settings, so that he can share most things with friends, but can’t find the one that is stopping access.

    I don’t think it is fault with Fortnite, as it will load ok with his dad’s unrestricted settings. I just need to know the ones to change on my sons account.

    Can anyone please help?

    No Xbox gaming

    I have got an xbox one s for Christmas it’s all set up my account is ok I can message people I have gold but whenever I play a game like fortnite it tells me to change a setting on Xbox.com but I can’t find anything to change it I tried the Xbox settings(on
    the Xbox one s) and found that playing online was blocked but when I changed it I went to play fortnite and it still said I can’t play it can anyone help me

    crossplay on child account

    is there any way to allow fortnite crossplay on a child account? I Can do it from my adult account but my son can’t play with his friends on other platforms because he’s got a child account. I don’t want him to use my account. Thanks

    If he hasn't actually purchased it himself, but was only playing it by sharing it with you, he'll get that message.

    BUG - Cross platform play does not enable for child accounts no matter what settings you set. This needs EPIC/MS attention

    Everyone is still experiencing this issue!

    Microsoft made a change on the Family website to 'enable something' but ttat's not enough to get your child to play crospplay in Fortnite.

    My child just messaged me that today there was a Fortnite update but unfortunately that update didn't include this bug fix.

    The question remains what are we waiting for? Who needs to update what?

    Im willing to run beta software on the xBox if that would help. This is really taking a long time ...

    Filtering Child Friend/people

    Fortnite has a PEGI rating of 12 that means it is not suitable for persons under 12 years of age. I would not allow a 9 year old play Fortnite for that reason alone.

    And you can restrict a child account from the privacy settings preventing online communication yet you can't pick and choose a list of online friends.
