Child account unable to make any in game purchases

Are you on a child account? Child accounts are unable to purchase backwards compatible games due to restrictions on the store.

There seems to be no solution to this problem if a child account is the one with Xbox Live Gold and you don't have an Xbox 360.

The parent account does not have the ability to get the Xbox Live Gold game for free.

The child account gets the message "Your account is unable to make this type of purchase on Xbox.com".

Hey, wolfster259! If you are getting this message, it's because your account is registered in the system as a Child Account. The only way around purchasing Games with Gold for Child Accounts is by making the purchase on an Xbox 360. Changing the settings
to make "unrestricted purchases" does not work for the 360 Marketplace, so you will be unable to make these purchases on the Xbox One or the Marketplace website. For more information, please check out our

yeah you will be able to share digital games.

get child A to sign into child B console and set that console as their home xbox

then child B signs back in and uses child B console

child A uses child A console

You can do it the other as well if you wanted to but not needed.

any purchases are then to be done and any codes redeemed for games to be done on child A account as they will be available on child B console and child A account.

If this is your child's account, I would also make sure the account is secured from any purchases without your consent as well by setting up passwords for purchases.
