Child account to adult account troubles

A child account can not be promoted to an adult account. The adult account in the group however can give the child account more freedom but the ONLY way a child account to be promoted is for it to age into the correct Legal age.

If you wish to try and access that Adult account you would have to contact support and provide enough proof that account was yours. https://support.xbox.com

So to clarify do you have an adult account in the Family that you manage or do you only have child accounts that you manage?

You need to have an adult account to be able to change any privacy settings on a child account in the same family.

If the website is giving you trouble then I suggest trying to update the settings on the Xbox. Sign into the adult account and then go to Settings>Account>Family and then choose the account you want to manage.

Let us know if there are still issues trying to manage the child accounts.

You'll have to wait until you turn 18 years old in order to promote your child's to an adult account, it's not possible to change your age

When you go to
account.live.com/accountsummary.aspx what is the date of birth? You can't change it to fix this because the original DOB is permanently embedded in the account data, but if it shows you are < the age of majority

You can only promote an account from child to an adult if your account has matured to the age of 18. The option to promote will not appear if the account is not hit the age of 18 yet.
