Child Account play at same time as adult account

Discus and support Child Account play at same time as adult account in XBoX Games and Apps to solve the problem; Hi folks I have an Xbox system x with game pass ultimate.     Child Account play at same time as adult account


    Hi folks

    I have an Xbox system x with game pass ultimate. My son is listed as a family member and has his own game pass ultimate for his Xbox one. Yet for some reason we can't use our own consoles at the same time to play online....either in the same game OR a different one.

    Also, he never shows as online to me when I'm on my Console and he is on his....Yet I can still send him a party invite and have that work...all the while he's still showing as offline.

    These issues are frustrating. Would be ever so grateful if someone could help.

    You should be able play together without a problem.
    WHich is the problem that the OP posted for as they cannot play at the same time despite having separate Game Pass Subscriptions and separate Consoles

    Yeh, I ended up creating a totally separate account for him rather than a child account. Works fine now. Pretty sure that's the only way.

    Thanks for everyone's help though. I think there's a bit of a downfall to family accounts if you can't all play together there's little point to them. I think Microsoft assume people share the one machine.

    We use the same Wi-Fi.

    Different accounts. Although his is a child account that I manage via my account. I have a sub to Ultimate for both.
