Child account can see parent account, but the parent account can't see the child.

    Hi there,

I have recently encountered a strange issue in regards to parental accounts. On my mothers account it is registered that she has no child accounts but on my account she is registered. This has prevented me purchasing xbox live, playing on my friend's minecraft
realm and stopping me play any of my online games on my xbox one. I have missed out on many of the deals for discounted xbox live and I just want to get this working. I have had xbox live in the past and it has worked fine, but now that i'm trying to renew
my subscription it has failed. I have already put $40.00 Aud in the account and it is going to waste.

Please if you know how to fix this issue respond.

    many thanks,

    Jared.

    Hi Jared,

Unfortunately, you may need to set up the family group again if the group is not properly displaying online from your mother's account. This is an odd issue I have never seen before. The child account cannot remove themselves from a family group and needs
to be removed by an adult in the family group, so this may be somewhat difficult to achieve if the parent account is not displaying the child account.

Do you have an Xbox One console by any chance to see if you guys can manage the family group from there?

Let us know if you have a console to see if it's the same.

The email was a personal email. It was the exact same email as it is her only one that has a name that is remotely like that one.

Is the email that she used a work email?

and the email that is showing on your screen under her name in the family is the one that you signed into under the pic on for her screen? You will want to make sure that it is the exact email.

    Thank you for your response!

I have now attached images from both of the dashboards of the accounts, at the page you talked about. It is definitely her microsoft account that was logged into.

Child account can see parent account, but the parent account can't see the child.

Where are you looking at her account at? Online at account.microsoft.com/family

    On the console?

If online you need to make sure you are signed into her MS account. That is considered the parent account for your account.
