Checking YTD spending as a 5* VIP? Also another question re: pre-orders and a comment

Hello. I am currently a 5* VIP, Obviously when I go to check my MyVIP status, the screen tells me I'm a 5* 0% of the way to my next star since I'm at the maximum level. Is there any way for me to check my year-to-date spending to know if I'm on track
to maintain that level for next year?

Also, now that pre-orders aren't immediately billed, is there any way to make sure built-up credit is spent on those (since those don't count for credit)? Should I go about it by just not spending the credit on immediate purchases but clicking the credit
on a pre-order, then just wait for the pre-order to automatically bill? Thanks!

Lastly I just want to register one comment. I really do enjoy the rewards program and think it's nearly perfect. My only major problem is digital pre-orders not counting in any way. This makes almost no sense to me, as modern gaming highly incentivizes
pre-orders by offering unique content, etc. I personally don't think consumers, who are still spending money on XBox games and products, should effectively be punished or dissuaded from pre-orders given that they don't in any way count towards MyVIP. I know
this is a contentious issue that is frequently examined, I just wanted to register this comment as well as get my other questions answered. Thanks again.

    :)

    Horizon just an arcade racer.

Haven't been able to experience the demo myself yet so I can't pass judgement; in otehr news, checking the comments that people have been leaving for this game, it's a 50-50 ratio. 50% hate/cancelled pre orders of Forza Horizon while 50% love/kept pre orders
    of Forza Horizon.

Checking YTD spending as a 5* VIP? Also another question re: pre-orders and a comment

The only way to track your spending would be to check everything you've purchased via
Sign in to your Microsoft account

Pre-orders are immediately billed if you use your Microsoft account balance (the currency from your credits/Xbox gift cards) to purchase them. Billing is only delayed if you used a credit card/Paypal. So you would have to have the funds available already
in order to make the purchase.

Digital pre-orders do count for credits if there is a particular offer for them. There is the Games on Demand punchcard offer which has been running almost consistantly for about a year just with different timeframes.

I mentioned using credit referring to partial payment of an order, not the entirety. With that in mind, how should I proceed?

I am aware of certain digital pre-orders counting, but I believe they all should, at very least with regards to MyVIP star level, if not credits. Thanks again for the help.

If you're trying to use a split payment, the system will only take into account how much you actually have on your account at the time that you place the preorder. If you don't have enough funds to cover the full amount at the time that you place the order,
it will ask if you want to use a credit card to cover the rest. So there is no way to continue to build funds for it. You would just have to wait until you have the amount of funds on your account you want to use when you place the order.

    Hello Griffin11287,

I can confirm Smwutches' responses as accurate. Furthermore, at the end of last year we had a unique tracker that showed users their total spending and estimated MyVIP after the end of year recalibration, but the only way to see a current record for your
spending is from your commerce page (Sign in to your Microsoft account).

For pre-order billing, Smwutches' responses come from the pre-order payment FAQ (Pre-Order Games | Xbox One Games):

PURCHASE PRE-ORDERS FOR XBOX ONE AND WINDOWS 10
You can purchase games available for pre-order using credit on your Microsoft account, a credit card, or both. You’ll be charged at different times depending on how you pay:

    • Microsoft account credit. If you pay for your pre-order completely with credit from your Microsoft account, the credit will be subtracted right away.
    • Credit card. Pre-orders made using just a credit card won’t be charged until right before the game is released.
    • A combination of account credit and a credit card. If you don’t have enough credit to cover the whole cost of the pre-order, you can combine payments. Your account credit and credit card won’t be charged until right before the game is released.
Once a pre-order is placed, you’ll receive an email notification that includes the details of your order and the date when your credit card will be billed.

If you select your payment method as funds from your Microsoft Account, your Xbox live Rewards Credits will be used, as promotional currency in your Microsoft Account has priority. However, if your Microsoft Account funds cannot complete the purchase, you
will have to choose another payment method to complete the purchase.

Regarding pre-orders, as mentioned we do attempt to cover these purchases with unique offers like the Games on Demand offer. Thank you for taking the time to clearly state your issue with the current policy. We understand your issues, and will document your
feedback for our promotions team to review.

Spend as much as you can to boost your 2017 MyVIP Rank

Preorders do not count towards VIP. So they could not be moved to count towards your VIP rank.
I would like them to be canceled and my xbox account credited

    and please answer All ?

    Why give a Pre-Order Punchcard that is for January 1 – March 31, 2017

on orders that were placed in December as stated I would receive more

as a 4 star gold at 8% than the Punchcard reward

since the three orders are Pre-Order games not yet released, I

would like them to be canceled and my xbox account credited
