You can't remove a card while it's attached to an active subscription which is most likely why it was cancelled. Typically you have to choose to "Cancel and refund" in order to get a refund, but you can try contacting support and speak to billing to see if they can do anything. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

In order to not be charged again, you just need to turn off recurring subscriptions.

Step 1: Check if the subscription really canceled before the renewal date

First, confirm the cancellation date:

Go to https://account.microsoft.com/services

Sign in and find the Minecraft Realms subscription

See if it says “Expired” or “Canceled”

If it says “Active” or shows a renewal date past June 27, the recurring billing may not have fully processed the cancel

If it was successfully turned off before the renewal date and it still charged, you should be eligible for a refund.

Step 2: Wait for the pending charge to clear before requesting a refund

Unfortunately, Microsoft cannot process a refund while the payment is still pending. Your bank has to finish processing it first.

Once the charge completes, follow these steps:

Go to the refund request form:

Sign in with the account that made the purchase

Choose the Realms subscription from your purchase history

Fill out the form and explain that the subscription was canceled before the charge appeared

Refunds are usually reviewed within 72 hours.

Step 3: If the charge never completes

If it stays pending and then disappears without completing, your bank likely rejected or reversed it. You won’t be charged, and you won’t need to request a refund.

But if the money is withdrawn from your account, definitely submit that refund request as soon as it’s no longer marked “pending.”

We suggest checking the
Order History on the Microsoft Account to see if the charge actually went through or was refunded. If the charge was refunded the license for it was revoked so it wouldn't be able to be accessed. We suggest checking out our Recurring
