    I have just left support chat, I spoke to a wonderful member of staff so please don't think this is a dig at them.

    I've been charged twice for my monthly subscription of Gold. As I understand it and have always understood it, Xbox/Microsoft charges at the start of the month of Gold. But the staff member is saying my 4th of July payment is for 4th of June to 4th July
    (old payment style) and the 7th July payment is for 7th July to 7th August (new payment style). I'm disputing the 4th July payment as I knew the date would be changing due to the message Xbox sent out, I didn't know the exact date but as I had a message I
    guessed it would change so I'm fine with the 7th July payment. But but as far as I can see, I've already paid my month of July on the 4th, at the start of the month, as I have done since 4th September 2011. I've had no free month so I don't understand how
    I've gone from paying at the start of the month to the end? I've been asked to look for proof of this as the staff member could do no more for me, but I cannot find anywhere that tells me my start and end billing month. I get a tax invoice email each month
    (on the 5th or 6th of the month) and that's it. Everywhere I look will tell me my next billing date, or past billing date but not the details of when the billing period started and finished. I hope this makes sense. Can anyone help? Am I wrong and you're billed
    after you've used the month of Xbox Gold, rather than when you start the month?

    You can check your account at billing.microsoft.com to see exactly what was charged. You'd have to call support and talk to billing to see if they can refund it, if you were charged twice.

    This is probably a billing error on Microsoft's part. Microsoft's billing system may have attempted to charge you for your Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription on December 12, but the charge was denied due to insufficient funds. When you deposited money into your bank account on December 12, Microsoft's billing system attempted to charge you again, but the charge was processed as a new charge, rather than a renewal charge.

    Was money deducted from your account twice? did you verify it?

    To confirm if you really got charged twice from your account, check your order history here https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders/

    If you're only seeing a single charge, the duplicate payment must have been returned or reversed due to some error. Most likely those payments will be completely returned to your account after few days.
