Charged for Dirt even though I have Xbox Live Gold

Hello,

I've bought the console last week and activated the 14day trial of Xbox Live Gold. I have already got Thief and Killer Instinct for free, but I had troubles with getting Dirt Showdown. Today I have found this question (Uh oh... that shouldn't have happened.)
and I've added a CC to my account. I've clicked by, looked into my account and I've been charged for the game. What just happened?

how do I file for a refund? I have been charged an extra month of Xbox live gold even though I had it set to not auto renew? I was only charged yesterday and wanted to know how to get my money back - Thankyou

Xbox live gold not working

Microsoft charged my account on 22 August for my Xbox Live Gold and my EA account. the total was $16.03. On my Microsoft account summary it show the Gold was charged on the 22nd, and then again on the 24th. My Gold account is now suspended even though it
was paid for. Please help in getting this corrected.

Trials don't change your account status to gold. You need a paid gold subscription in order to get the free games with gold. If you're sharing your console with someone else who has gold, that may be why you were able to purchase the One games for free.

To take advantage of the free month of Gold on a brand new account made and joined to live from the console, a credit card is required, even though the card is not charged.

the xbox live gold code is correct but on the console it says that I have to enter the correct one even though it is on xbox live

Do you have a payment method listed on your account? Even though the games are free you still need a card on file to "purchase" the free game. You will not be charged.

got a message on xbox live saying the subscription fee is changing from £39.99 to £49.99 but the way its worded its saying i will be charged a further £49.99 this year even though ive just recently renewed my gold, does this essentially mean microsoft
is gonna try charge me £90 for this years xbox live?

More to the point who would pay that increase, Been here 12 years and will not pay that as Xbox live isn't worth it.
