Changing your account from Child to Adult

First let me be clear you cannot change your account from child to adult as you have probably seen in countless other forum posts you have to wait to the set DOB on the child account reaches 18 so if your here on a solution tweet at Xbox support make a poll
for them to do something about it,



For the past Year and a half I've started getting into the games with golds however i have noticed I'm unable to download most of them as i am set as a child whilst i'm 19.... so I've realized i have set my accounts DOB wrong and Xbox simply can't do anything
about it which they can but are simply to lazy to do so, I've been with Xbox for years and I've loved everything they do but the support is terrible from my experience anyway, I'm hoping this gets out to someone and they can do something about it as it seems
to be quite a big issue for a lot of the community.

Promoted Child to Adult, but XBox won't update account

because you cant

The only way to change your account from child to an adult is by being an adult by father time not changing your age or your email address

You will have to wait

With the xbox account age turns 18 it will have promote your account to adult

And no changing the age or the ms account will not work

 

Parent account

Changing the age under your profile data cannot change your xbox account from child to adult. If you have registered an account under 18+ of age in xbox live service that is a child account

 

I am sorry this is a frustration with you, we see many folks come ask us frequently that they need their child's account transferred to an adult account. But like you said until the age reaches the age of adulthood you can not promote the account. There
is important reasons for this being difficult, so that children don't change their account to early. I agree, there should be a way for people like yourself to promote their account if mistakes were made, if you have suggestions please let everyone know here
