    Changing Xbox Live Privacy Settings


    I have had an issue with not being able to see chat of people who aren’t my xbox live friends, and I can’t find where to change the privacy settings on the website. Any links to help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hello iGotzMunchys,

    Xbox LIVE > Online safety and privacy. Make sure your online status is not blocked.

    • Sign into your Xbox LIVE account on your console.
    • Go to Settings, then select Privacy.
    • Choose Change Settings, Then select Customize.
    • Change the settings to what you like it to be.
    • To exit, press the B button on your controller, Then choose Save and Exit.

    To change child’s safety and privacy settings

    To change privacy and safety settings for yourself
    1. Go to Xbox.com and sign in to your account (this must be an adult account).

      Note

      If you’ve forgotten your account email address or password, see the Lost Account Solution or the Lost
      Password Solution      .
    2. Select your gamertag.
    3. Select Xbox settings. If you don't see this option, select More links and then select Xbox settings.
    4. Select Privacy & online safety.
    5. Select either the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab or the Privacy tab. Review the current settings and update any that you want to change.
    6. Select Save before leaving or switching to another tab. If you don't save the changes before you move to the other tab, your changes won't be saved.

    4. Choose Online Safety, Then select Change Settings.
    5. Change the settings to what you may like them to be.
    6. To exit, press the B button on your controller, and then choose Save and Exit.

    > Privacy & online safety > Xbox live privacy.
