  1. Changing xbox gamertag email associated is already on a different account

My xbox gamertag is on an old email address I no longer use. The email I am using already has this randomly generated gamertag associated with it. How do I go about changing my old email to the new one? The FAQs all seem to about just adding a new email
but it doesn't account for the email already having a registered gamertag.

    :)

  3. Microsoft account switch - Error 8016FE6D

1 Microsoft Account Email can not have 2 Gamertag's associated to it and yes, make sure you have no Microsoft Currency (MSFT Points, Xbox Cash, etc.) when you change your emails.

    Follow these instructions:

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

Keep in mind that your new Microsoft Account Email that you want to use on your current Gamertag, MUST have its Security Proofs and Billing Information associated to it at account.live.com and have been ACTIVE for at least 30 days, without a Gamertag already
associated to it, prior to changing the Microsoft Account email associated to your Gamertag. If you did already make a Gamertag to it, then you have to create a new Microsoft Account Email, add/verify proofs, 30 days to use that new one.

Make sense? Let me know if that helped!

  4. Changing xbox gamertag email associated is already on a different account

Keep this in mind if the current email that has the random Gamer Tag on it is a Microsoft server email ( Hotmail.com, outlook.com, live.com, msn.com) this will not work.

If it is not a Microsoft server email then follow these directions.

Keep in mind also that any games, DLC, game saves, and subscriptions go with the account themselves so if any these items have been bought on the new account they will not transfer.

the only thing that we are going to be doing is changing what email is associated with the account ANY password or security proofs will remain the same.

you will also have to have access to both accounts too.

to make things easy we will do this

    Account A = Old account

Account B = new account with random generated gamer tag

Since you are wanting to take the email from new account and put it on old account you will first have to change the email address on the new account the easiest way to do this is to follow these directions

    1. Sign into account B at account.live.com/addassocid

    2. add new email (outlook) can be just a random one.

    3. make new email the primary email then remove other email from account that you want on account A
(AGAIN DO NOT DO THIS IF IT IS A MICROSOFT SERVER EMAIL BECAUSE IT WILL DELETE THAT EMAIL AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET IT BACK)

    Once the email is removed:

    1. sign into account B at account.live.com/addassocid

    2. add an existing email (the one you just removed from Account A) Make this email the primary email

    3. if you want then you can remove the old email or leave it on the account.

    Xbox profiles duplicate loginins

Hey there, as long as you can still sign-in one of the gamertags on the Xbox you should be able to change the email associated with the account following the steps here:

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account

    -

If you associate the randomly generated gamertags with another email their original gamertag should show up under their original email.

Moving gamertag to a different microsoft account

Hello guys thanks for your time,

I waited approximately 36 hours just to be sure that the process of changing my gamertag was done.

So I went ahead and tried to make the change (gamertag associated with email#1 to email#2, which was supposed to be free by now) and I got the same message "this email address is already associated with an xbox live account'. I couldn't believe. I signed
in to xbox.com with email#3 just to be sure the move had been done, and it was. That proved that email#2 was SUPPOSED to be free of any gamertags.

So I tried to make the change again (gamertag associated with email#1 to email#2) and I got this new message: “Sorry, we can't change your Microsoft account right now.” which, according to

    support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account
, means I had previously moved the account; but I have not moved the gamertag from email#1!!!!

    Maybe its referring to email#2?

Both, email number 1 and 2 meet the 'Conditions that must be met before you can move your Xbox Live profile'
