    Changing the associated email of a gamertag


    I know this question has been asked for a number of years but it's still unclear if it can be done. When I originally set up my child's xbox I used my main MS email address, He's subsequently built his progress on that email address and associated gamertag. I now want to change the email address from mine to his email address but retain my email address for other non xbox things. I don't want to get a new gamertag for him, as he will lose all his progress but would like to setup an xbox family group so I can manage his time online. This should, with the power of Microsoft, be a simple request but for reasons wholly unclear to me it is not. It should be a simple move of his gamertag to his email address (verified through a secure microsoft process)...simples!!!!

    nope never i havent changed my acc since never...i just want to swap mails for the first time.

    tried yesterday the problem is the same iam gona try it today too but i dont think we ll see any difference..

    maybe a problem with my new mail (that i want only to use it as a swap email) its hotmail.gr and not .com

    Sorry, you are correct - looks like that article has not been updated for the Xbox One.

    I also had a look at Microsoft Aliases and you are also correct about that.

    It looks like the only step to migrate your information is to have a Microsoft representative do this for you. If you follow this link and select "Chat with Microsoft Support" they will be able to pursue this for you.

    I'm fairly sure those steps are outdated and or incorrect now. There is no "settings" option and nothing that says "Your information." I go through the My Account section and there is still no option to change the email associated with my gamertag. At most,
    I can change the contact preferences and billing address, but again, there is no option to actually change the email I use to sign in with.
