    Changing region when buying gamepass


    I am wanting to buy game pass but when I try to purchase a message comes up telling me to change my region to match with where I bought my subscription. I am from New Zealand, all of my locations are New Zealand but it still isn’t letting me purchase game pass. Anyone know what to do?

    Hello again Mitchell, if it was from a local store it may be that the code does not belong to the same region, the ideal would be to contact the store and check the subscription region, so if you want to migrate to the Ultimate Game Pass you will have to purchase a code from the same Live Gold region.

    Hello MitchellBurr, this message appears when there is usually a discrepancy between the active subscription and the one you are looking to buy, you know if the live Gold you have in the account was purchased directly through the Microsoft website was purchased through a site like Eneba, CDKeys etc. if it may be from a region other than yours.

    Yeah so like ngocphi it is region-locked in addition to changing your region I think you can only change it for Windows and Microsoft Store not your account.

    A couple of options.

    • Ask for support to change it.
    • Use a new account set to that region.
    • Use a VPN.
