Changing the primary email address of an account will not remove xbox games, purchases, progress, etc. since the Microsoft account remains the same, only the email address is changed.

If you want, you can create your son an account. He can still play the games on the console as far as the Xbox is your account's home Xbox. Please refer to the URL below for more information:

no it does not, the microsoft account will still be the same, there is no way to transfer or move anything from the account. you would need to create him his own account and then make sure the xbox is set as your home console, he can then access all the purchased games on your account, but saves, in game addons like cosmetic etc are forever tied to your account.

this is why a child account should be created from the start so this does not happen.



The Microsoft account IS the email account IS the xbox account Is the office 365 account IS the skype account IS the teams account, there all one in the same, changing address does not change the account.
