Changing online privacy settings on windows 10 pc

Hi there,

ive been having issues on trying to play minecraft realms with my friends (who play on xbox) on my windows 10 pc.

i made a free xbox live account through my micfosoft account, which should be all i need in order to play minecraft realms. however i get a message that goes along the lines of “cannot connect to realm due to how your xbox live is set up, you can make changes
by going onto xbox.com”. Which i have done many times, but ultimately it only gives me information on how to change the online settings on a childs microsoft account, when my account is in fact classified as an adult account.

Could anyone be able to provide me with a step by step method on how to change my settings? As no youtube video or other threads have particularly been useful for me.

One/Windows 10..." Be sure to let us know the results!
