    Changing NAT type from Strict to Open With a Mobile Hotspot Instead of a Router


    All of the directions I can find for setting up a perimeter network or port forwarding center around routers, so I want to know if it's even possible to do this with a mobile hotspot instead. I have been trying to play with friends on Minecraft through Xbox Live (using laptop and mobile devices) but we always get the "Unable to connect to world." I know if I can get my NAT type to be open, it should fix a lot of issues, but it is strict and I do not know what to do.

    I can use my mobile hotspot for multiplayer on Fortnite but not on Farming Simulator 19. Why is this??

    Since you do not control the NAT that is upstream of the NAT in the hotspot itself, there is nothing you can do to get open NAT.

    is your router set to open or closed? Having the router open makes the strict nat change to good nat type.
