Changing My Username Resulted in (I think) Minecraft Servers Not Recognizing My Account

When I logged into windows 10 using my Microsoft account it instantly used my Xbox username. It there any way I can make my Minecraft account different than my Xbox username? This would be extremely helpful, especially because my Minecraft username
is 13 letters, and Xbox usernames can only be 12 letters!

Hello. I already changed my password twice. The problem i am having is that around 2-3 years ago i bought Minecraft and have been playing it but all of a sudden it says my account doesn't have it and its not showing up in my purchases. Recently I wasn't able to login with my microsoft account because it says it doesn't have it anymore. I think the account got hacked and changed. Please get my Minecraft back. I already contacted Minecraft and they said i have to contact microsoft. My minecraft username is ajisuppose. Also my Xbox username also changed and i cant login anymore. I can only play bedrock. Minecraft may ask you to change your username after updating the launcher due to several important reasons.

- Account Migration: Mojang, the company that develops Minecraft, has been migrating Mojang accounts to Microsoft accounts, During this process, you may be asked to change your username.

- Username already in use: If your username is being used by another account, you may be asked to change it

- Launcher Update: Some Minecraft launcher updates may require you to change your username.

I have a similar situation, I bought a minecraft game years ago. so it was a Mojang account. When I tried to migrate it, I was so confused that I ended up buying a second Minecraft game and it was automatically linked to a Microsoft account. My problem is I am an Admin on a server, when I logged into the server, it didn't recognize me. Another Admin. Dev changed all my info to the new Microsoft account so I could still do my Admin op. stuff.

But I play for relaxation on another server, where I have been for years on the original Mojang account. Same problem, if I login with my New Microsoft Account, the server doesn't recognize me and I don't have access to my homes, claims or other personal items.

How can I merge both accounts so I can keep playing on both these servers, because eventually my Original Mojang account will not be able to be migrated. I keep getting the "This one is taken" thing.

Sorry about my late reply. Christmas and new year has been busy.

To make the following a bit easier to understand, I will refer to my kids as Carl and Ida.

What happened is; I bought minecraft for Carl using a mojang account. Here I created one with one of my emails. I do have another mail, which is the one I believed to not have been used for anything minecraft related.

However, when I tried to migrate Carls mojang account, to a microsoft account, using my secondary mail account - it sure does look like my other kid Ida, had tried to use this for some minecraft related stuff, since this mail was the one used on her PC. With this I mean that Carls minecraft java username, looks to have not been transferred correctly, since his java username has changed to a username I think Ida has made at one point. This I tried to change back to Carls original username, but this I am not allowed to do.

That is basically what I am asking for. Is it possible to somehow free up Carls original username, so that I can change his current (mircosoft) java username back to his original?
