Changing linked email address for my main XBL account

So recently I've been wanting to change the email address linked to my main profile as it'll be easier with redemption codes etc. I can't seem to find a way to do this. I go to add the 'alias' on the emails page but it won't let me so I'm not sure what to do about it.

Damn that's annoying... Surely it'd be a simple email change to add smh

Oh well, looks like I'm starting over on a new account.

Changing the email address linked to your Xbox account isn't possible. You can try changing the alias via web instead on the console as that should work.

I am afraid you cannot change the email linked to your account, you can only add one to it!

Have you tried changing his email address on the console??? TO do this log into his account and connect to XBL. Then go to setting manage my account. There's a option in there to change the email address it's associated with. As it's achild account it'll
ask for your (the parents) email and password (although the parental email should prefill with the address supplied at the time of creation). Once that's done it's should be able to be linked to the new email account.
