Changing gamma doesn't work

I didn't say that the gamma was the problem for the stick not moving. It's the sensitivity causing that. I know because I had a dark screen and could only move certain directions. Gamma is the darkness of the screen. But if you don't want to try it or it
doesn't work, then try searching for your problem in a search engine. Others might have had the same problem.

Hi Plunny - I don't think this is the answer. I am experiencing the exact same problem and the issue is the game changing the gamma on its own at when the user attempts to load a save game. Additionally, the stick not working isn't likely to be caused by
the gamma.

In trying to solve the problem, I have uninstalled/reinstalled the game; changed controllers; changed batteries; tried different maps/saves; all without luck.

Has anybody else experienced this problem?

The most optimal settings are RGB, 1080p, and 1.9 gamma. Over time, I've learned that the 360 does an extra gamma conversion step after the sRGB gamma correction step. This is called Piece-wise Linear gamma correction or Xenon Gamma. It falls somewhere between
1.9 and 2.0 gamma so if you can calibrate close to 1.9 since black levels are the offset issue, then the 360's picture will look near perfect. So i use 1.9 gamma for Xbox 360 and 2.2 gamma for my PC using my LG's gamma setting.

This is where I get the acertation that the Xenon/ Xbox 360 gamma is best around a 1.9 and 2.0 gamma:

To test this, I took the Xbox 360 Gears of War with my TV set to 1.9 gamma and the Windows version of Gears of War with my TV set to 2.2 gamma. They were both set to default brightness and post process type ingame options and the darkest details i saw on
2.2 gamma, I could see at 1.9 gamma on the respective versions.

Like I said, the Xbox 360 does an extra gamma step after sRGB correction.
