Changing Email without Email

I have weird problem.

So I haven't played xbox in ages and the email I used for my Xbox live account has since been deleted by the service provider. I'm trying to recover the account but don't remember the passsword but I can't just reset the password because the email its connected to has been deleted.

I remember my gamertag (username?) as well as the email that it was created with (the deleted one) is there a way to change the email so I can reset the password?

One of my friends confirmed that we are still friends on his microsoft account. Would that still be the case if my gamertag and profile were assumed by someone else? It even has the same score. If I remember correctly, I created the account on a 360

If you are referring to a Xbox classic account, you can't recover one of those, you should migrated this accounts to 360, there was a process for that not currently available, and you mentioned you are seeing the Gamertag currently active, a few years back Xbox released inactive Gamertags for others to take, that's probably why you are seeing it active

You can't access to a Xbox account without knowing the Email, as the Xbox account its not linked to the Xbox account, the Xbox account its part of the Microsoft account, if you can't remember the Email won't be possible to access that Gamertag

I know what the email is that is connected to the xbox account but that email has been deleted by the service provider for inactivity. The only thing I don't know is the password and I can't reset it because the email has been deleted. What I am wondering is if someone at Microsoft can change that email to my email that actually works so that I can reset the password similar to what they did with my Mojang account.
