    Changing Capitalization in Gamertag


    I was directed here from the live chat because they said they were unable to do anything on their end but I could find help here. I want to change the capitalization in my gamertag. Two letters were capitalized by mistake and I just wanted the entire thing
    to be lower case. I see no way to do this without paying twice to change my gamertag to something completely different and then change it back with all lower case. It seems silly to me that considering I want to keep the exact same tag (it even says "this
    gamertag is already taken" when I try to switch the capitalization) I would have to pay twice for something that should be free. I was told I would be able to be helped here and I hope the support person was correct.

    You would have to first change the tag to something else and then change it back. You would have to pay for each change. Changes are $10USD

    There is no way of doing this other than paying for 2 gamertag changes.

    The support person was incorrect & I suspect told you to post here because they couldn't do anything or give you the answer you wanted which is something they do regularly.

    There's no way around it,if you want to do what you've described then you will need to pay twice to change your gamertag.

    I had changed my Xbox gamer tag a few weeks back, but it never appeared.

    When you changed it, did you change it to something else and then back to your gamertag? The system doesn't see things like capitalization as making gamertags unique, so the system wouldn't just change the capitalization.

    actually no you cannot change the capitalization of a name cause the system does not recognize caps or spaces or lack of spaces in a tag, for example , and dave mcfly 85 are all the same tag.
