    Changes to controller response for online communication and streaming services.


    Hello, upon watching YouTube and other video streaming apps, an idea popped in to my head.

    So, I’m sure many Xbox users turn off their controller whilst watching videos, episodes or movies. I’m sure many users are sick of 20 second + ads and having to turn on their controller to skip it.

    Xbox should make a new controller for a possible new Xbox console that detects ads and online communications.

    When turned off, the controller will detect an advert or party/game invites which will automatically send a signal to the controller in use to power itself on for let’s say 5 seconds. This gives you the time to accept party/game invites or skip ads or intros on YouTube and other streaming platforms.

    Some people may say it’s lazy that I’m asking for this but over time, it would be such a useful little feature and a great experience. Instead of having to hold down a button for 1 second, then pressing A and then to hold the button down again to turn off you can just press A one time and the controller turns itself back off after a few seconds.

    When will we have a native streaming APP besides Twitch?

    As soon as YouTube or Facebook gaming develop those apps.

    The company that controls it would be ultimately responsible for building those tools, so I would recommend reaching out to them, letting them know you'd like to see a native streaming option for their service on the Xbox. Find a way to get people to support
    you, such as creating an Xbox Live Club and coordinating your efforts with the streaming platform.

    Controlling a movie stream is local. When you pause it, the stream doesn't pause, just the local playback. Controlling a game and all the inherent changes within the game world is an entirely different matter.
