Changes Made to Xbox Live Online Safety Settings Don't Update

I have been trying to update my online safety settings, but each time, the changes are reverted upon submission. I have updated the privacy settings on a previous occasion, and the changes made were kept.

For clarification, yes, I am using an adult account, and I am changing my settings via account.xbox.com.

are you trying to update the settings via
http://account.xbox.com/settings ?

If so then be sure to hit the Submit button at the bottom of the page on each section when making changes.

Also keep in mind that an account needs to sign out and back in again on the console for these settings to take affect.

If you are already using that link and it keeps failing then be sure to try a different browser or use inPrivate (Ctrl+Shift+P) or Incognito (Ctrl+Shift+N) browsing to make sure no cache/cookies are used that could be causing problems.

With some further testing, I discovered that any changes to my Privacy settings or Xbox 360 Online Safety settings are kept, but the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings are still reverted upon submission.

 

Yes, I am attempting to update the settings via
http://account.xbox.com/settings , and am clicking the submit button at the bottom of the screen. Upon doing so, all changes I made to the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings are immediately reverted to their original values.

I have also tried this on another browser, and have cleared my cache and cookies on both of them, but the problem persisted.

 

I have gone to a family member's account (also an adult), and successfully changed the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings. I then immediately signed out of their account and back into mine, and was still unable to change my own settings.

 

I am now able to change my settings. I'm not too sure what caused the problem to correct, but it has been corrected.

Edit: The changes weren't kept. I am still unable to change my settings.

 

I also wish to correct some information. I am able to change some of the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety settings. Some, but not all. I have been trying to change the first two options:
You can create an join clubs, and Broadcast Gameplay. Changes made to either of these options are reverted to Block, but every other option can be changed.

 

Strange, can you double check on the console and set your account as Adult if it's not there already and try the settings again?

If that doesn't help then I would advise you to contact Xbox Support via Phone or Microsoft Support Chat options at

They should be able to look into your account and perhaps discover a cause or steps to fix it.

 

I probably should've mentioned this before. I'm using the Xbox App on Windows 10, not the Xbox One.

app? Also are you getting an error code by any chance?
Troubleshoot changing online safety or privacy settings on Xbox One may help a little, although I know you said this was on Windows 10. Try the steps I mentioned above, and let us know if that works. As our Ambassador mentioned as well, if nothing else
works I would recommend contacting
Xbox Support so that they can look into your account if need be. If you have any further questions please let us know.

 

I fixed the problem by putting my account on a friend's Xbox One, and changing the settings from there.
