Changed Primary Alias. Unable to change back to my original Primary Alias. Can't...

Some background information leading up to my XBOX Social (Windows 10/11) issues:

I used my personal e-mail that derives from my school e-mail under the same name for non-school realted things (for this case: gaming).

I finally had free access to Minecraft Java last week (since I bought the Windows 10 Version long ago) and tried to make a new account with my Microsoft e-mail. I have had trouble setting up a new Minecraft Java account due to a two-factor authentication that wants to send a verification code to my school e-mail (which was terminated last fall) to use my personal e-mail. I have my phone number attached, and I used that number to verify that I am the one logging in bypass the school e-mail route. After putting in the security code from my phone, I was still asked to access my school e-mail (now non-existent) to verify myself (very annoying that I have been given alternative options to verify myself that does not actually matter in the long run). I think I may have gotten passed that hurdle, but whenever I logged in to the Minecraft Launcher with my personal e-mail, it does not ask to choose between my School/Work e-mail or my personal one (I figured it was defaulting to my school one instead of my personal one (under same name), which led me to searching about aliases).

I read that creating aliases to be used as alternative login credentials. I thought I could use this to specify that I want to log in with my personal e-mail without confusion.

I Read this:

"You can make changes to the email addresses or phone numbers (aliases) that are associated with your Microsoft account. Here are some reasons you might want to make changes:

• You want to add or remove an email address or phone number.
  
• You want to use a different email address or phone number to sign in.
  
• You want a different username to appear on your Windows 10/11 devices.
  
• You want an email address you can give to other companies or other people that can't be used to sign in to your account or access your info.
  
• You received the “Which account do you want to use” message at sign-in."
  

I changed my Primary to new @outlook.com name because I figured the only thing that would change was the e-mail displayed upon logging in, and I could break away from using my old college e-mail and selecting "School/Work" or Personal" every time.

Current Situation:

After changing Primary Alias:

- Everything that auto-signed into now asks me manually login each time (I am fine with this).
- My old Alias does not have "Make Primary" beside it like my @outlook.com one used to have (I cannot change this back to a Primary Alias).

- My Laptop locked my out after coming back from work because I have a new Alias and none of the Passwords/PINs

I set up worked anymore. I had to used my new password from my personal e-mail (under new Primary Alias) to log in and create a brand new PIN for my device (I spent hours trying to figure my new password out, since no where does it indictate or hint I have to use the same password as my e-mail to log-in. No solution I found online helped either. I got lucky and trying my new password from my e-mail). I saw zero warnings about potential device login issues on the Changing Primary Alias Screen.

- I can still log in to Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10) as my Gamertag (unchanged), but everything I bought appeared to be gone including any Skins Sets I had Saved were now gone and set to the two Default Skins. According to all the things I own from the Marketplace, I "own" zero items, and I have 0 Minecoins (I have bought things and had Minecoins left over before the Primary Alias change).

- I can still log in to Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10) as my Gamertag (unchanged), but I cannot connect to Realms or any Friends.

- I can still log in to Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10) as my Gamertag (unchanged), and I can play my old saved Worlds (locally saved) and connect and play on Servers (not the ones that came with the game, only the ones I added myself).

- After I manually sign into XBOX Social via pressing [Windows] + [G], still says after four days, "We can't show your friends right now. Try again after a bit." for my Friends Tab.

- After I manually sign into XBOX Social via pressing [Windows] + [G], still says after four days, "We can't get your messages right now. Try again after a bit." for my Chat Tab.

- After I manually sign into XBOX Social via pressing [Windows] + [G], still says after four days, "No matching results found." when using the "search or add players" Search Bar. I cannot search up anyone in Minecraft Bedrock's Gamertag Search Bar, as well.



- I was able to play Minecraft Java once. The game is now unplayable anymore because of the Primary Alias change.

Questions and Possible Solutions I have:

1. I think the easiest and the fastest way to solve/undo all of my issues at once is for Microsoft to "force" my Primary Alias back to my .edu e-mail. Is it even possible for this forced chage to to happen?

- Disclaimer (I have not deleted any of my Aliases; I just have no option to make my .edu my Primary Alias again. I can make my 3rd Alias a Primary but not my .edu one).

2. Logging into any of my Aliases will show my New Primary each time rather than the Alias I Signed in with.

3. Will I need to wait longer for everything to transfer over to my new Alias properly? Since it has been a week, I don't think this is even a possibility.

4. Is this purely an XBOX Live issue not registering my new Alias correctly? Do I need to contact anyone in particular in this case?



5. Is there anything I can even do on my end at this point to fix these issues?

6. The moment I can reconnect to Friends or my XBOX Social Panel properly, I should have no issues playing Minecraft Again.

Things to consider and things that work correctly:

- It looks like the records of everything in the Microsoft store I downloaded in the past is still there, including downloads from my old Surface Pro 4 (I have a Surface Pro 6 now).

- All of my in-game purchases are gone in Minecraft (Windows 10/11) including my Minecoins (in-game currency).

- I can still sign in to my XBOX Live Account on my browser and see my Friends' activity like normal. I can sign in with any of my aliases and can play online games to a very limited degree, but I cannot See or Join anyone on my Friends list. This includes Minecraft Bedrock (Windows 10/11); I can join Servers I added, but not Servers that came with the game, Realms, or directly with any online Friend. I am pretty sure my Friends cannot see me online as well.

- I can Sign in to my XBOX Social Tab under my new Primary Alias, but no activity shows.

- I had to change my Surface Pro 6's device PIN after changing my Primary Alias. Windows Hello, could not log me in without other passwords (old passwords were apparently tied to my .edu Alias).



- It appears that each Primary Alias is like starting a brand new Profile on a website or game: I must start from scratch again and nothing transfers from my first alias.

- If I can change back to my old .edu Alias or all of my XBOX related things can be tied to my new Primary Alias, my main issues with XBOX Live would theoretically be solved.

- Not sure if I said this yet, but it appears an XBOX Profile's saved data for games is directly tied to a specific Alias rather than to a Gamertag. Even if I Sign in with a new Alias, old saved data for games is not accessible anymore.

Currently my @aol.com is my Primary Alias. I changed it from the @outlook.com one to see if "Make Primary" would show up for my .edu Alias one. It did not, but the @outlook.com one has "Make Primary," which means "Make Primary" will not show up for me no matter what I do.
