Discus and support changed from dvi to hdmi and now i have no screen in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; So i was playing on dvi settings switched to hdmi as i noticed i was getting no sound output whatsoever from the tv so i changed the setting the tv...     changed from dvi to hdmi and now i have no screen


    So i was playing on dvi settings switched to hdmi as i noticed i was getting no sound output whatsoever from the tv so i changed the setting the tv went into 1080p and then showed a no signal screen i tried to change the resolution but could not see the
    screen to do so i then tried to navigate to change back to dvi but also could not do so due to having no screen to see what i was doing i tried to boot up the xbox in low res mode to no avail and hard reset the xbox multiple times i tried different hdmi cables
    and nothing any solution to the problem?

    hdmi output greyed out

    I just had the same problem. It was down to the tv output being set to dvi rather than hdmi. Dvi doesn't carry audio so would require an optical cable.

    Go in to picture setup and change it from DVI to HDMI

    Reoccurring Sound Issues

    Thank you for contacting Forum support.

    Sorry to hear there is an issue with receiving sound from the console.

    It's possible that the settings may have been converted or changed when moving from one device to another (changing HDMI/DVI).

    Go to settings:

    • Display and sound
    • Video Output
    • Video Fidelity and Overscan
    • Under the option "Display" set it to HDMI
    It may be set to Auto or DVI but if it's already set to HDMI then change it to another setting then go back to HDMI.

    Connect your PC w/ a DVI cable, connect the xbox w/ a hdmi cable. manually switch between the 2 by pushing the input button on the moniter...

    think of it as no difference from having a blu-ray player and your xbox connected to your screen, just change the input,.

    HDMI to DVI doesn't support audio and my monitor doesn't have speakers so how would I get sound from HDMI to DVI, I'm just asking if what I posted would work or not?

    This doesn't seem to work. Something I've got wrong sorry, is it's actually outputting to DVI as I'm going from HDMI to a DVI monitor so it's detecting the DVI connection not the HDMI signal.
