'Change your privacy settings to send messages' warning in Xbox app Windows 10

Try changing it this way.

Go to the top right corner, click on your avatar

click on my microsoft account

Click on "Your Information" on the top tab

go on the date of birth

Change to a date that matches age 18+.

Once this is done, log out your microsoft account from all open browser sites,

wait 20 minutes for the updates to take effect on the server, then click the link below.

Look for the Xbox One/Windows 10 Online Safety tab

And change the settings "You can play with people outside of Xbox Live", "You can create and join clubs", and "You can join multiplayer games" to Allow.

Once all that is done, wait another 20 minutes to update the changed settings and that's it.

Hello Vinicius. Account is (way) over 18 and all of these settings were already applied.

But nonetheless: I changed some of these settings to maybe trigger some database process, then set them to your suggested state (as they were before), uninstalled the whole app, waited 45 minutes, reinstalled the app, and ... same as before. Still the same annoying warning.

You could try a few other things as well.

So, let's try this, first, make sure your windows and all its services are up to date:

Open Settings, click Update and Security and then Windows Update;

Click Check for Updates;

Click the Download and Install Now option, if available;

Also, check the Microsoft Store for any updates on the Xbox apps and its services.

Then try this:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for gaming services app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then do the same for the Xbox app:

Go to windows settings > apps > search for Xbox app > click on it and select advanced options.

After that, click repair and then restore, open the app and try again.

Then, try to uninstall and install the Xbox app.

If it still doesn't work you're going to uninstall the games services using a powershell command.

In the windows search bar type Powershell > Right click and select open as administrator > Type the command: "get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-Appxpackage –allusers" > Wait for the process to finish and then restart the PC, then open your Xbox gamepass app, it will ask you to install the gaming services again, install it and try again.

Then, after you do it, you're going to open the game pass app, it will ask you to download and install the game services again

If neither of those procedures works, try to restore your PC's OS via the ISO image tool, using that tool you will be able to maintain your installed games and files.

Regarding your issue, I recommend that you try checking the activity alerts option inside the Xbox app which is on the left pane of the Xbox app.

You have to change your Privacy settings in Xbox. Click on your profile & click Xbox settings then go to Privacy but I can't seem to go onto the Online safety option.

It should be on your profile on the Microsoft app on windows 10.
