change the Microsoft account linked to Minecraft

in November-2016 I have purchased Minecraft java edition via Mojang for my older son.

in August-2021 I have purchased another Minecraft for my younger son, this time from Microsoft.

I probably made a mistake and linked the second purchase to the account of my older son.

now when I try to migrate my older son from Mojang account to Microsoft account, I get an error message:

"THIS ONE IS TAKEN

The Microsoft account xxxxx has already been linked to a

purchase of Minecraft, and you can only link one"

How can I unlink the second Minecraft from one account and link it to another account?

I have a similar situation, I bought a minecraft game years ago. so it was a Mojang account. When I tried to migrate it, I was so confused that I ended up buying a second Minecraft game and it was automatically linked to a Microsoft account. My problem is I am an Admin on a server, when I logged into the server, it didn't recognize me. Another Admin. Dev changed all my info to the new Microsoft account so I could still do my Admin op. stuff.

But I play for relaxation on another server, where I have been for years on the original Mojang account. Same problem, if I login with my New Microsoft Account, the server doesn't recognize me and I don't have access to my homes, claims or other personal items.

How can I merge both accounts so I can keep playing on both these servers, because eventually my Original Mojang account will not be able to be migrated. I keep getting the "This one is taken" thing.

Very frustrating.

Unfortunately, there isn't a way to unlink and relink a Microsoft account from a Minecraft account.

The only best option is to have you reach out to Mojang as they can review your account and possibly help you relink your Minecraft to a new Microsoft account. You can contact them through this link:

I'm haveing a simalur sitchuwashin aswell. I'm trying to move my minecraft accaut but when ever I try to do the steps it says the same mesage pops up.

P.S. I tryed doing it befor with my dad and i didin't gat a cape.
