Change the email associated with an xbox account without messing with the original email

I just don't understand why I can't swap the email of that account without the hotmail account being deleting. I fail to understand a reason behind that. Both the accounts are available for me to use, but the email of the old account is my mothers and I want the email and password to be my own as it's my account.

Your Xbox account is the same as your Microsoft account, even if you don't use Xbox services. Microsoft does not recycle or recover emails after they are deleted from your account.

In your case, I recommend that you create a new Microsoft account with a new email address.

When you change the email associated with your Microsoft account, it will not delete the original email or any of its other corresponding data. Changing the email simply means that the email address linked to your Microsoft account will be updated to the new one you provide.

The original email account will remain independent and unaffected by this change. It will no longer be associated with your Xbox account, but it will still exist as a separate email account with its own data and functionality.

Sorry, I should've worded this better. My original email associated with the account is fine. But they changed the email associated with the Minecraft account.

Just one more question, if I change the email will it delete the original account' email and its all of its other corresponding data associated with that Microsoft account or will it really just be changing the email to my own and nothing happens to the email that was removed from the account? So in other words willthat original email's Microsoft still be intact just no longer associated with an Xbox account?
